Eligibility

(1.)General Scholarship – Requires an applicant  to be a  2013  San Diego County high school graduate who is entering college in the Fall.   Awards range between  $500- $1,000.

(2.)Alice Newell Joslyn Medical Fund – Requires an applicant to be entering the Medical/Health Care profession, i.e., dental/medical assistant, nursing, physical therapist, or seeking their Bachelor of Science, Master's or Doctorate in the health field.  Applicants must be living or attending a  high school or college in San Diego  County at the time of application.  Awards  range between $500 - $2000 per academic year.  Recipients may re-apply contingent on scholastic progress.

(3.)LAFS – Cal State University San Marcos (CSUSM) General Scholarship  -  Open to all  Cal State University – San Marcos (CSUSM)  Latino students  enrolled in at least  6 or more units with no preference given to unit load ; students must be enrolled in  the Spring semester of the application period and the Fall semester of the award period; may be  eligible to reapply and be considered equally as new applicants; must be in good academic (2.0 GPA) administrative standing  at CSUSM ; and,  Graduate students in an approved post-bachelors program are eligible as recipients.

(4.)BECA-STAND Scholarship -   STAND VISION STATEMENT As first generation and undocumented university students at Cal State San Marcos, we know the obstacles and adverse situations that many first-time students face when applying to and continuing college. Our goal is to reach those students with infinite potential and help them overcome those financial and social barriers. This scholarship contributes to their ability to pursue a higher education, which is an important asset to them as individuals and for us as a collective society. Eligibility Requirements
1- Must be a high school senior graduating in Spring 2013 or a transfer college/undergraduate student;
2- Must be attending CSUSM in Fall 2013;
3- Must be resident of the San Diego County;
4- Must be a full-time college student (12+ units) in Fall 2013;
5- Have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0;
6- Demonstrate financial need;
7- Citizenship is not a requirement;

Applications - Applications  for  2013 will be accepted from January 14 through March 2, 2013 in the BECA Post Office Box (not postmarked).  There will be no exceptions.
